Jersey Premiere screening of the surfing feature documentary film POINT OF CHANGE … Saturday 9th September as part of the drive-in cinema at The Watersplash, St Ouens Bay.

An island community dramatically changed forever by the discovery of the perfect wave in the 1970’s, POINT OF CHANGE chronicles the first surfers to ‘discover' this Point at Nias Island, Indonesia, and the unintended dramatic consequences that followed: devastating social and ecological repercussions for the people, and place.

POINT OF CHANGE is a compelling and dramatic documentary feature film told through a unique blend of previously unseen super 8 archive, contemporary interview and beautiful animation, revealing an all too resonant picture of a society changed inexorably by powerful economic & environmental forces outside of their control.

No One Can Take It From Me - this film got a special mention from the judges & will play on Friday 16th September @healingwavesuk before our screening of Waterman. ‘It’s Jim’s morning swim. 120 minutes to get him in the ocean for a 3 minute dip. This film accompanies Jim Pevitt, an adventurous spirit caged in a body ravaged by multiple sclerosis, on his morning swim, which he can only do with the help of volunteers. Meanwhile, we hear a story of adventure; one of Jim’s surfing expeditions from a time before MS. A true story written by Jim Pevitt and read by fellow Port Fairy surfer Hamish Ebery. Evocative, layered imagery combined with sparse story-telling invites us into Jim's inner world.
